Since the first generation of the car was launched in 1975 over 12 million units have been sold. The first three generations of this model series also play the lead role in Three of a kind, the new short film from BMW Classic. The story sees Derek and Gordon attempting to woo the lovely Keri. Each character embodies a generation of the BMW 3 Series and sets out to impress the object of their affections with their respective cars. But when all is said and done, who will Keri choose?

Several activities are waiting for the visitors on BMWs show stand at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing. Among them the BMW i8 Concept Spyder and the BMW 3 Series Li.

The success of the BMW M3 started 25 years ago with Roberto Ravaglia. Thanks to the BMW M3, he was standing on the podium as the first World Touring Car Champion. In the same year, 1987, the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) also went to the new BMW M3, with Eric van de Poele behind the wheel. Since then, the BMW 3 Series is known as a car with a sporty character.
